The Laurel (Laurus nobilis) is a medicinal plant also known as laurel, bay tree and bay leaf (English). Belongs to the family Lauraceae. In alternative medicine, the diluted oil of laurel is used for dislocations, arthritis and rheumatism. The herbal bath is prepared to relieve muscle pain. The berries when used in the form of enxaguante, prevent alopecia (baldness). The herb saturated is used to fight fungi that appear on the nails. Coughs and bronchitis are treated with application of a poultice. In aromatherapy, it is used to treat earaches and high blood pressure. The extract of laurel is used in the form of ointment for wounds.
