Marjoram is a medicinal plant more defined as an aromatic herb, rich in unique aromas, with characteristics very close to those of oregano. Not very cold tolerant, Origanum majorana has a sweet flavour. In cooking, Marjoram leaves are often used in salads, vegetables, pasta, sauces and even in olive oil with other aromatic herbs such as sage, thyme, and rosemary. Besides the Marjoram in culinary dishes, you can use it in infusions to relieve indigestion and intestinal gases. Marjoram Tea will be considered one of the best natural allies against depression, anxiety and nervousness, fighting insomnia and headaches.
Although it is confused with oregano, Marjoram has a more intense, warm and sweet aroma. It is sometimes found on sale in place of oregano and thyme. This delicious aromatic herb belongs to the same family as mint and is highly appreciated in white spirit drinks, especially vodka and gin. The Romans were the first to cultivate Marjoram and use it in cooking. In England, Marjoram has been cultivated for 800 years.
