Ginger is a species of plant belonging to the Zingiberaceae family, native to the island of Java (Indonesia), as well as China and India. Ginger is a digestive and anti-inflammatory agent par excellence. In alternative medicine known as ‘Ayurveda’, this powerful plant is considered the ‘universal medicine’ for the treatment and prevention of various types of illness. It is possibly one of the most popular natural teas for treating colds and flu, as well as eliminating bad breath.

Ginger tea

Preparation:

  1. Place 1 tablespoon of dehydrated ginger in a litre of water and boil for 5 to 10 minutes. 
  2. When your tea is ready, leave it to stand for a few minutes, covering it with a lid. 
  3. You can drink ginger root tea cold or hot. As it's a simple tea, you can add nutmeg, green tea, cinnamon or just lemon peel.
