The Matcha is a type of powdered japanese green tea that is known for its vibrant green color and unique flavor. It is made from shade-grown tea leaves and is ground into a fine powder. Matcha has gained popularity not only for its taste but also for its potential health benefits. Here are some of the properties and potential health benefits associated with matcha:

Rich in Antioxidants: Matcha is high in catechins, which are a type of antioxidant. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals in the body, which can contribute to various chronic diseases and aging.

Boosts Metabolism: Some studies suggest that the catechins in matcha, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), may help boost metabolism and promote fat oxidation, which could aid in weight management.

Enhances Concentration and Alertness: Matcha contains a moderate amount of caffeine, along with the amino acid L-theanine. This combination is believed to provide a calm, focused energy without the jitters often associated with other sources of caffeine.

Supports Heart Health: Research indicates that regular consumption of green tea, including matcha, may be associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular diseases. It may help reduce levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.

Rich in Nutrients: Matcha is a source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and E, as well as potassium, calcium, and iron.

May Have Anti-Cancer Properties: Some studies suggest that the antioxidants in matcha, particularly EGCG, may have potential anti-cancer properties by preventing the growth of cancer cells and inhibiting the spread of tumors.

Supports Detoxification: The chlorophyll content in matcha is believed to support detoxification by helping to eliminate heavy metals and toxins from the body.

Promotes Relaxation: L-theanine, an amino acid found in matcha, has calming effects and may promote relaxation and reduce stress.

PREPARATION:

  • Add 1 to 2 measuring spoons of “Chashaku” in your Japanese “Chawan” cup with 150-200ml of hot water;
  • The water for this tea should not be boiling, otherwise, the tea will be bitter;
  • Let the water cool down to 75º before adding the matcha;
  • Stir vigorously until all the tea is dissolved;
  • To avoid the formation of small lumps you should stir your matcha with a fork or use the “Chasen” (bamboo brush, suitable for stirring matcha tea). After using the brush, rinse it with warm water and place it in the matcha brush holder “Matcha Whisk Holder”;
  • The matcha tea should be consumed immediately after preparation to avoid it becoming bitter.

In weight loss, 1 cup should be drunk on an empty stomach and one cup 30 minutes before lunch and dinner.

Curiosities: The preparation of the Japanese Matcha Green Tea harvest begins once a year, 20 days before the leaves are picked, in the high Japanese mountains. At this time, the leaves intended for the preparation of the 'green jewel' are protected from direct sunlight, thus slowing down their growth and increasing levels of chlorophyll and essential amino acids. To produce this authentic gem, the best buds from each plant are hand-picked.
