Black Tea Orange and Almond

Our Black Tea Orange and Almond envelops the senses with luminous citrus notes and a toasty hug of nuts. The blend yields an aromatic, full-bodied cup—perfect for leisurely breakfasts or a mid-afternoon pause.

Ingredients: Black tea, apple pieces, malt seeds, sliced almonds, red rose petals, and natural orange and toasted almond flavourings.

Origin of Black Tea

Black tea comes from the more mature leaves of Camellia sinensis. It undergoes the highest level of oxidation, which deepens the colour and enhances a more robust, full-bodied flavour. After harvesting, the leaves are left to wither (losing part of their moisture) for up to 20 hours and then rolled by hand or machine—this releases cellular juices and initiates oxidation. The process ends with drying, which fixes the final aroma and texture.

With a relatively high caffeine content, black tea can provide an energy boost; in excess, it may interfere with the balance of the nervous system. For this reason, it is usually recommended during the day, ideally without added sugar. Frequently cited effects include reduced feelings of fatigue, potential support in weight-management strategies, and some relief from digestive discomfort. Compared with coffee, many people report a gentler, longer-lasting energy that can endure for about 4–6 hours.

Curiosities & History

Malt seeds – They result from the controlled germination of cereals—mainly barley—followed by heat-drying, a technique with roots in Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt that spread across Europe via trade routes and medieval monasteries. This process develops cereal, honey, and soft caramel aromas. In infusion, malt releases fresh-bread notes and a discreet sweetness that can soften the body of black tea.

Almond – Originating in Central Asia and the Middle East, it reached the Mediterranean thanks to Phoenicians, Greeks, and Romans, putting down lasting roots in the Iberian Peninsula. Highly valued in cooking and confectionery, it is naturally rich in unsaturated fats, vitamin E, protein, and fibre.

Water temperature: 100º

Infusion time: 3 to 5 minutes.

Recommended quantity: 1 teaspoon per person. Approximately 2 gr per cup (240 ml).

Preparation: place 1 teaspoon in 250ml of previously boiled water in a container. Cover and leave to infuse for 3 to 5 minutes. Finally, strain and allow to cool slightly before drinking.

Store in a dry (max. 20º) and cool (max. 60% humidity) place.
