Fennel Seeds

Fennel is a plant with digestive and diuretic properties good for the well-being of the stomach and intestines. When used as an infusion, Fennel stimulates digestion, promotes the production of breast milk, and regulates gut flora. It can also act as a liver protector and nervous system calming.

Fennel Seeds Tea is usually indicated to treat farting (flatulence).

Ingredients: 100% Fennel, seeds (Foeniculum vulgare).

What is Fennel Tea good for

Fennel Tea is a digestive tea recommended for the relief of stomach discomfort caused, for example, by indigestion, heartburn, or food intolerance. It is also very suitable to help treat intestinal problems such as diarrhoea, constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome. Fennel Tea can be an excellent ally in relieving menstrual cramps, increasing drowsiness (ideal for insomnia), and muscle relaxation.

Other indications: anxiety, vomiting, infections, cough, fluid retention, low immunity, anorexia, and bad breath.

Curiosities:

Fennel is a versatile vegetable that plays a role in the Food Culture in several European countries, especially France and Italy. Its aromatic flavour is unique, even reminiscent of aniseed liquor, so much so that it is often, and erroneously, referred to as anise seeds in many markets.

Cooking suggestions: Fry onion and garlic, add a little white wine, chopped tomatoes, black olives, and fennel seeds, and use to season the fish before baking. Fennel seeds are delicious with vegetables, potatoes, and pork. Add extra flavour to potato salad and rice dishes with crushed fennel seeds. Season risotto with fennel seeds and Parmesan cheese.

Water temperature: 100º

Infusion time: 7 minutes

Recommended quantity: Approx. 1 teaspoon of Fennel per cup (240ml).

Dosage: Drink 1 to 2 cups a day.

How to prepare it: Place 1 teaspoon of Fennel Seeds and 240 ml of boiled water in a pan. Cover and leave to infuse for 7 minutes. Finally, strain and leave to cool slightly before drinking. You can add a little honey. For best results, practise a healthy lifestyle.

Store in a cool, dry place away from light.

Warnings: This plant should be avoided by pregnant women or babies, even by anyone with hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the plant.
