Propolis, Granules (Apis mellifera L.)

What is Propolis? Propolis, also known as bee glue is a natural substance produced by bees of the Apis mellifera species. This species is commonly known as the European honeybee or western honey bee. This compound is created from plant resins, beeswax, and bee secretions, forming a protective barrier in the hive. Thanks to its natural properties, propolis has been widely used in traditional medicine and herbal therapy.

Ingredients: 100% Propolis, Granules (Apis mellifera L.)

Curiosities:

The word "Propolis" originates from Greek and means "defense of the city," referring to the protective role it plays in the hive. Bees use propolis to seal gaps and protect the hive from microorganisms.

Studies suggest that the Egyptians used propolis in the mummification process due to its preservative properties.

Benefits of Propolis:

Immune System Support: Studies indicate that it may help stimulate the body’s immune response.

Respiratory Health Support: May be beneficial for relieving symptoms of respiratory infections, such as cough and sore throat.

Antioxidant Properties: Contains flavonoids, compounds that may help combat free radicals and reduce oxidative stress.

Natural Oral Care: May assist in preventing issues like gingivitis and cavities.

Skin Regeneration Support: Studies suggest it may contribute to the healing of minor wounds and mild burns.
