Curiosities:

Thyme is an aromatic and versatile herb belonging to the Lamiaceae family. In Ancient Roman times, thyme was used in the baths of Roman soldiers as a natural method to obtain body strength and stamina. This shrub of oriental, African and Mediterranean origin grows in temperate soils. In addition to its culinary potential, this aromatic herb is used as an air freshener and natural insect repellent. It is also known to enhance the reduction of musty smells in damp rooms. The leaves, twigs, and flowers of thyme are the parts most commonly used in food, either in their natural state or dehydrated.

Thyme is rich in vitamins A and C, even as minerals such as calcium, potassium, and manganese. In traditional medicine, it is considered an antibiotic and natural relaxant that can eliminate body toxins. It is also referred to as an excellent digestive stimulant. Thyme tea can reduce anxiety, improve mood, and balance intestinal flora.

Thyme is currently consumed in France and Spain in various culinary dishes. This high consumption is due to the easy production of this aromatic herb in some French and Spanish regions.
