Originally from Tropical Asia, Senna is a small plant belonging to the Fabaceae family. It is a legume with highly laxative properties, so it's recommended for constipation and the elimination of intestinal gases. It's also consumed to reduce appetite and improve intestinal flora. This property was discovered in the 9th century by the Arabs. However, its use only took place after the Renaissance. The expansion of the Senna will have started in the Middle East to North Africa.

Dosage: It is recommended to consume 3 cups a day, in between each meal, for two weeks.
How to make the Senna Herbal Tea: place one dessert spoon of Senna leaves in 240ml of boiled water. Cover and leave to infuse for 5 to 10 minutes. Finally, drain and let it cool down a little before consuming.
Store in a cool, dry place away from light.

Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of Senna Leaves (3g)
- 1 teaspoon of Peppermint leaves (2g)
- 1 teaspoon of Hibiscus flowers (2g)
- 1/2 teaspoon of Liquorice root (1g)
Preparation:
- Place all herbs in a teapot or cup.
- Pour 250ml of freshly boiled water over the herbs.
- Cover and let steep for 5-7 minutes (no longer, to prevent the Senna from becoming too strong).
- Strain and serve.
Flavour Balance: The natural sweetness of Liquorice root counteracts the bitterness of Senna, while Peppermint adds a refreshing note. The Hibiscus brings a pleasant tartness that complements the earthy character of Senna, creating a well-rounded and more palatable infusion.
