Curiosities:

Rwanda Rukeri - Is hand-picked from 1600 meters of volcanic soil in the Rwanda Valley in East Africa. Due to its development in a humid climate with constant daily fog, Rwanda Rukeri is full of exceptional characteristics that make it a robust, balanced and strong black tea. Rwanda Rukeri is a tea rich in diuretic, stimulant and antioxidant properties. Its characteristics are obtained through natural growth, without any chemicals. To be consumed with or without milk, Rwanda Rukeri black tea is ideal for breakfast.

Rwanda produces only one per cent of the world’s tea, but its fertile volcanic soil and temperate climate make it some of the finest. Rwanda’s economy suffered a great deal during the country’s civil conflict in the 1990s, but tea has played a major role in its recovery.

The Rukeri tea estate is located in the Kinihira district in Rwanda and produces about 12% of the teas coming from the country. The project got its roots as early as 1975 with the construction of the factory to create a new economic sector in Rwanda. The wiry leaf is reminiscent of Ceylon teas, the taste is pleasantly mild with caramel notes and a ruby-coloured cup. A miracle in terms of value for money in the organic category.
