Horsetail - the horsetail is from the Northern Hemisphere belonging to the Equisetaceae family. This plant is rich in digestive, relaxing, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and diuretic properties. It is considered an excellent ally in regulating the menstrual cycle, even in the treatment of urinary infections and gonorrhoea. Enriched with vitamin C and potassium, horsetail can help fight anaemia, arthritis, fluid retention and gastric ulcer. In addition, it can contribute to the swelling of the eyes and the reinforcement of the defences.
Chicory - The chicory is scientifically called "Cichorium intybus" and is considered a perennial plant (long life cycle) with just over a meter in height. This plant grows in regions with temperate climates and is found in abundance in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The flowering period takes place between July and September.
In Egyptian antiquity, the use of chicory components was frequent due to its beneficial properties in the treatment of certain pathologies. In addition, it was considered an ideal substitute for coffee and as a vegetable. To enjoy these properties, the Egyptians ground the roots, flowers and leaves.
The benefits of chicory are diverse because it contains a nutritional capacity. Considered a medicinal plant chicory is a rich source of vitamins A, B6 and C, even as fibre, proteins, carbohydrates, potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium. In just 100gr of chicory, you will enjoy 1.5mg of iron, which in practice corresponds to about 10% of your daily needs.
