Stevia or Stévia Rebaudiana is a small plant with medicinal properties belonging to the Asteraceae family. In recent years, stevia consumption has increased exponentially as it represents one of the best substitutes for white sugar today. Stevia is a natural sweetener made from extracts of the Stevia Rebaudiana plant. In Chinese culture, stevia is one of the oldest ingredients used to sweeten tea. According to scientific records, stevia will have the capacity to sweeten 250 times more than the processed sugar we know so well. In addition to having a greater capacity as a sweetener, it is not harmful to the body compared to sugar.
Originating from Paraguay, stevia can be consumed daily and introduced as a natural sweetener in weight loss diets. The Guaraní people also explored this plant in therapeutic solutions for the treatment of different diseases. It allowed the easy taking of these natural solutions. Preparation: Put one teaspoon of stevia leaves in a cup. Then pour boiled water and let it infuse for 5 minutes. Avoid exceeding the recommended infusion time so as not to get too sweet. Finally, strain and let cool slightly. You can consume stevia tea hot or cold. If you want to make 1L, the quantity of stevia leaves will depend on your taste.
