Curiosities:

The orange tree is a medium-sized, round-shaped citrus tree from the Rutaceae family. According to scientific records, the first orange trees appeared more than 7000 years ago, probably originating from India, China, or Vietnam. It would have been around the 10th century that China began the first exploitation for medicinal purposes. It is common to use flowers, leaves and orange peels to prepare an infusion, culinary dishes, and as a natural repellent. In some countries, the orange represents a luxury fruit for consumption by the elites. In Asia, the orange tree is one of the most popular citrus trees for garden decoration. Asians admire orange trees because they are pure and aromatic natural elements.

Generally, the sweet aroma of orange blossoms attracts many insects, including bees. The extracted pollen promotes the natural production of high-quality honey. An orange tree can live up to 60 years, although there are trees over 90. It is believed that the extension of age is due to the conditions to which the orange tree is exposed. The only parts of the orange tree that can be consumed are the leaves, flowers, and fruits. Worldwide, the United States and China are two of the largest producers of oranges. In Portugal, more than 200 thousand tons of oranges are produced, annually.

These are the best orange blossoms I have ever purchased- intact, fragrant, and fresh! I am in the United States, so the shipping is a bit of a hit, but their service and shipping speed is second to none. I am so happy that I found Chas do Mundo!
