Curiosities of Gorse

Gorse is a small, branched, spontaneously growing shrub of the Fabaceae family. Generally, the Gorse is considered a weed because it develops in sloppy soils. Moreover, it grows in any climate and is very resistant to forest fires. The Gorse is quite common in the wild vegetation in Portugal, Spain and North Africa. In Portugal, it is usual to find Gorse in the North and Centre of the country, under pine trees.

You can use Gorse Herbal Tea to flavour rice and season meat.

Water temperature: 100º

Infusion time: 5 to 10 minutes.

Recommended quantity: 1 dessert spoon of Gorse Flowers per cup of tea (240ml). You can consume 3 to 4 cups of tea daily, outside the main meals. If you want to prepare 1L (1000 ml) of Gorse Herbal Tea, it is recommended to use four tablespoons of Gorse Flower. You can drink Gorse Herbal Tea in the evening.

How to prepare Gorse Herbal Tea: place one dessert spoon of Gorse Flowers and pour 250 ml of previously boiled water. Cover it and let it infuse for 5 to 10 minutes.
