Ceylon Black Tea BOP1 - Superior

To avoid major differences in colour, aroma and taste, our Ceylon Tea is harvested from various mountain heights, soil structures and environmental conditions. From here we receive numerous types of teas with various flavours and aromas.

We have thus created a unique and exclusive blend by combining these variants in one batch. Our tea lovers have become accustomed to a taste of their own, offset by the distinct flavourings creating a blend of unvarying quality, with a perfectly strong and stable grade throughout all harvests.

Ingredients: 100% Ceylon BOP1 (Broken Orange Pekoe 1st Flush).

Do you know what BOP1 stands for?

The acronym BOP stands for "Broken Orange Pekoe". The letter "B" stands for "Broken" and is added to the acronym "OP" (Orange Pekoe). The number "1" indicates a higher quality in the BOP category.

Origin of Black Tea

Black Tea is the result of blending the oldest leaves of one of the Camellia sinensis bushes. Compared to other teas, Black Tea has the highest percentage of oxidation. This difference will make Black Tea more intense in flavour. After harvesting, the green leaves undergo an osmosis process lasting up to 20 hours. Later, they are rolled by hand or by machines. It is at this stage that the tea leaves begin their oxidization process. Finally, the leaves are left to dry naturally.
