Oolong Se Chung | Wu Long | Semi-fermented
This is a superior quality, also known as Wu-Long or Black Dragon.
It is lightly fermented, slightly green and with woody aromas and flavors.
What is Oolong tea? Oolong lies between green tea and black tea in terms of oxidation and in Chinese culture, semi-oxidized oolong teas are known as qīngchá (teal-blue tea). Several of its sub-varieties, including those produced in the Wuyi Mountains in the northern part of Fujian Province and the central highlands of Taiwan, are among the most famous Chinese teas.
Oolong has a taste closer to green tea than black tea, as it does not have the sweet pink rosy aroma of black tea but otherwise it also lacks the distinctive vegetable notes typical of green tea. Oolong should be prepared strong.
