Curiosities:
Ginger - Ginger is a species of plant belonging to the Zingiberaceae family. Originating from the island of Java (Indonesia), even as from China and India, it entered and spread across the European continent through the Crusades. This plant tends to grow on a large scale in countries with tropical climates. Around 1600, ginger arrived in Brazil through the Portuguese, acquiring another denomination of "mangarataia". Currently, ginger is very popular and consumed on the Asian continent, mainly in the following countries: Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and China. It's used as a culinary seasoning in sauces, infusions, and essential oil for massages.
In Chinese culture, "Gan Jiang" is the name given to ginger root. In alternative medicine dubbed "Ayurveda," this powerful plant is considered the "universal medicament" to treat and prevent various diseases.
Cornflower Petals - Scientifically called "Centaurea cyanus", the cornflower is an annual herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae and Compositae family that develops a flower 2 to 3 centimetres in diameter. Its flowering period occurs between May to September. Cornflower is one of the few plants that can generate around 7,000 seeds per year. Part of its production takes place on vacant or poorly worked land in regions of the European and Asian continents. Able to reach more than one meter in height, this plant prefers breeding in corn, wheat and barley production fields.
The cornflower flower is known for its beneficial contribution to treating gastrointestinal disorders, even as in the regulation of digestion. In addition, it can help disinfect wounds and oral infections (thrush, cold sores, conjunctivitis, among others). Cornflower petals may also promote good blood circulation, improve vision and reduce fever.
