Canela de Velho is a shrub of the Melastomataceae family native to Northeastern Brazil. It is easily found in the states of Bahia and Sergipe due to its medicinal potential for bone, joint, and digestive well-being. Although there are other plant species within the same family, there are only one species of Canela de Velho, Miconia albicans. The only one that contains properties beneficial to the human being. Besides growing easily in Brazil, you can also find it in countries such as Mexico, Argentina, and Paraguay. Canela de Velho is sometimes confused with other species with similar characteristics to the real species. This plant can grow up to 2.5 m high.

Water temperature: 100º

Infusion time: 5 to 10 minutes.

Recommended quantity: Approx. 1 teaspoon of Canela de Velho per cup (240ml).

Dosage: Drink 2 cups a day, one cup in the morning and one cup in the evening.

How to prepare the Canela de Velho Tea: put 1 teaspoon of Canela de Velho in 240 ml of boiled water. Cover it and let it infuse for 5 to 10 minutes. Finally, strain and allow cooling a little before drinking. For best results, practice a healthy lifestyle.

Store in a cool, dry place away from light.
