Wormseed

Wormseed, Epazote, Paico or Herbe Sancti Mariae is a very common plant on the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo, not much appreciated by everyone due to its intense aroma. It is popularly mentioned as a natural remedy, in tea, for the treatment of roundworms in children. When this occurs, it is customary to add some Peppermint leaves to soften the flavour of the Erva Formigueira.

Ingredients: 100% Wormseed, plant (Chenopodium ambrosioides).

Wormseed Tea: Benefits and Properties

Wormseed Tea, Jesuit's Tea or Mexican Tea is traditionally used to treat stomach and lung problems. In addition to eliminating flatulence, it reduces coughing and improves blood circulation. It is considered a lung strengthener because it actively influences the treatment of respiratory issues such as bronchitis and lung infection. You can also use it to eliminate intestinal worms, good for combating constipation and diarrhoea.

Other indications: rheumatism, healing, tuberculosis, angina pectoris, nervous disorders, flu, and colds.

External use: Apply Jesuit's Tea or Mexican Tea to eliminate lice and nits. Wash the head about 1 to 2 times a day with this tea. Avoid contact with the eyes. Also use it as a vermicide against moths and bedbugs.
