Curiosities:

Star Anise is a versatile dry fruit, brownish, star-shaped with eight points. Originating in Southeast Asia, the Chinese widely use Star Anise as a culinary spice. In addition, taking Tea Star Anise is applied to treat respiratory and intestinal problems. This sweet-smelling spice reached Europe in the mid-1580s and was used solely to flavour sweets and liqueurs. In Chinese culture, star anise is mixed with fennel seeds, cloves, Ceylon cinnamon and Sichuan pepper as a traditional seasoning in many dishes. This plant may also be called Chinese Anise.

A very interesting curiosity of Star Anise is the presence of a rounded seed at each end. In addition to its culinary potential, Star Anise has medicinal properties that may contribute to good intestinal and respiratory functioning. Star Anise Tea can promote pain relief, fight bad breath and strengthen the defences. This performance in physical and mental well-being is due to the high quantity of essential nutrients in its composition. Of these nutrients, proteins, vitamins and healthy fats stand out. If you want to fight bad breath, you can carefully chew a few pieces of Star Anise.

Therapeutic indications: flu, colic, gastritis, gas pain, cough, and bronchitis.

Water temperature: 100º

Infusion time: 10 minutes

Recommended quantity: 2 to 3 cups a day.

Preparation: boil one litter (1L) of water with a teaspoon of star anise. Wait a while, until it boils. After boiling, remove the container from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes. Finally, strain and you can consume your tea star anise, hot or cold.

Store in a cool (max. 20º) and dry (max. 60% humidity) place.
