What is Sencha Green Tea?

Sencha Green Tea is known as the “King of Green Teas” and is one of the most widely grown varieties in Japan and is widely admired in the West. The cultivation for Sencha is around 78 to 80%. Besides being one of the most recommended types of green tea for beginners, Sencha is a very versatile option for both cold and hot days. In contrast to the other varieties called “shadow teas”, Sencha grows without any kind of barrier against the sun. When brewed, this green tea gives off a really pleasant, light, and refreshing sensation that will leave you feeling relaxed and clear-minded. It is an excellent option to detoxify the body.

The Health Benefits of Sencha Green Tea

Due to its high antioxidant potential, Sencha Green Tea is one of the best green teas to increase energy, stimulate concentration, strengthen defences, improve blood circulation and stabilize blood pressure. Sencha also influences the activity of the metabolism.

Water temperature: 70º to 80º

Infusion time: 2 to 3 minutes.

Recommended quantity: 1 teaspoon per cup of water (240ml). Approx. 2 gr per person.

Dosage: 1 to 3 cups a day.

How to prepare Sencha Green Tea: Put 1 teaspoon of Sencha in a cup with boiled water. Cover it and let it infuse for 2 to 3 minutes. Finally, strain and let it cool down a little before drinking.

Store in a cool, dry place away from light.

Nunca tinha bebido chá verde Sencha, bebia sempre chá verde proveniente da China. O chá japonês Sencha tem um sabor diferente. Gosto de adicionar uma casquinha de laranja.
