What is Oolong tea? The Oolong tea is between green tea and black tea in terms of oxidation and in chinese culture, the teas, oolong is semi-oxidized are known as qīngchá (tea bluish-green). Several of its sub-varieties, including those produced in the Mountains Wuyi in the northern part of the Province of Fujian and in the central mountains of Taiwan, are among the most famous chinese teas.
The Oolong has a taste closer to green tea than to black tea, since it doesn't have the smell rosy sweet of black tea, but on the other hand it also does not have the vegetable notes outstanding typical of green tea. The Oolong should be prepared strong.
Water temperature: 80-90 (when the large bubbles in the kettle, just before boiling).
Infusion time: 3 - 5 minutes.
Recommended amount: 1 teaspoon of tea per person. Approx. 2grs / cup.
