Curiosities:

Oolong Tea – Oolong is between green tea, and black tea in terms of oxidation. In Chinese culture, semi-oxidized oolong teas, are known as qīngchá (blue-green tea). Several of its sub-varieties, including those produced in the Wuyi Mountains in the northern part of Fujian Province and the central mountains of Taiwan, are among the most famous Chinese teas. It has a flavour closer to green tea than black tea because it doesn't contain the sweet aroma of black tea. On the other hand, this tea also lacks the striking vegetable notes unique to green tea. As for its preparation, oolong needs to be prepared strong. It will be from the bitter that a trace of sweet flavour will emerge.

Before the leaves are rolled, they undergo a two-day osmosis process to release enzymes (a necessary action for the next step). Then, the leaves oxidize for a short period, less than the time devoted to black tea, before actually achieving full oxidation. To prevent the oxidation level from increasing, oolong tea is heated and finally dried.

Water temperature: 80º

Infusion time: 1 to 5 minutes.

Making Hot Oolong Tea: This type of tea is best enjoyed when the leaves are briefly infused when poured over hot water. The leaves may be infused several times, which may result in infusions with different characteristics. Oolong tea is served to the lucky guests after 1 minute.

Preparation of Cold Oolong Tea: Place 6 teaspoons in a heat-resistant carafe. Pour 1 and 1/4 cup (250ml) of boiled water and leave to infuse for 5 minutes. Fill the jug with cold water, pour the prepared infusion and add ice. If you prefer this sweet tea, you can add stevia leaves, caramelized candy sticks or our organic arenga sugar.

Store in a cool (max. 20º) and dry place (max. 60% humidity).

Warnings: Consumption of oolong tea is not recommended for pregnant women and breastfeeding women.
