Fenugreek | Trigonella foenum-graecum L | Learn more about Benefits
Ingredients: 100% Fenusgreek seeds (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.).
Therapeutic indications: Fenugreek has several benefits and is considered anticancer, reducing levels of glucose for diabetics and has antioxidant functions. It also has elements such as protein, vitamin C, niacin, potassium, diosgenin (compound that has properties similar to estrogen), alkaloids, lysine and L-tryptophan, as well as steroid saponins (diosgenin, yamogenin, tigogenin and neotigogegin).
It is considered a digestive plant and can be consumed for the purpose of weight loss, as it is also a natural laxative and appetite suppressant. In addition, fenugreek also lessens the discomfort of the menstrual period and minimizes menopausal symptoms. It can also be used to treat anemia, anorexia, cellulitis, childhood developmental problems, gastritis, inflammation, imprisoned gut, boils, dandruff, hair loss, etc.
One of the main uses and benefits of fenugreek, however, is in the stimulation of milk production in breastfeeding women, used for this purpose for centuries. Mothers often feel increased milk production 24-72 hours after the first dose of fenugreek. The dosage of 3500mg per day has been the ideal to produce such effects.
Due to the estrogenic properties of fenugreek, it can also be used to increase libido and decrease the effects of heat waves and mood swings, very common in menopause and PMS.
